Binding and Cover Making

In this workshop, students learn to make notebooks and artist books for themselves and repair their defective books easily.

This workshop consists of two parts:

1- Preparation of paper forms for sewing

Teaching two widely used sewing techniques

Consolidation and consolidation

2- Cover making:

General principles of cover making

Covering with leather

Covering with fabric

Combined cover making

Fantasy cover art

Necessary materials and supplies that every student should bring:

One hundred sheets of A3 paper and one hundred sheets of A4 paper, any paper except glossy paper

Preferably paper that is suitable for design. Like Pars, Balki and...

Fabric suitable for cover making must be natural fibers

Mataqal fabric, canvas or ready-made canvas fabric in dimensions

50 x 70 pieces

35 x 50 pieces

50 cm metal ruler

An ordinary pencil (which is needed as a scale)

Scissors and large cutter

A one-inch brush for normal building painting

One hundred sheets of A4 paper

One hundred sheets of A3 paper

Preferably Pars or Balki paper, which are more suitable for work than office paper.

Materials and supplies provided to students:

A needle for sewing

Perk thread for sewing and embroidery

Four pieces of thick cardboard binding

Four pieces of lining paper

Binding fabric

Half a kilo of binding glue

A score stick on the cover

Lining paper, fluff thread, cover cardboard and binding glue are also provided to the students.

This workshop is held every day 10 am. to 7 pm.
