Maryam Firouzi
Maryam Firouzi is a cinema graduate from Tehran University of Arts (BA and MA) and a short studio photography course at Speos School in Paris.
She has made several short films, video art, photo collections and installations in her portfolio.
Among her awards, we can mention the best thesis of the year in the field of cinema in 2015, the award for the best experimental film from the Cannes Mediterranean Film Festival, Woodengate Romania, and the American Action Film. In 2018 and 2022, he received the Peace Medal twice from the World Peace Photo Festival in Austria with two sets of photos of reading books for the streets of Tehran and scattered memories of a distorted future. It also received the IWPA France Photo Award in 2021. And in the summer of 2022, she became an artist residency in the international city of Cite artists in Paris. Among the numerous solo and group exhibitions that she has had in Iran and the world, we can include the La Gacilly festival in France and Austria, open your eyes in Switzerland, Biennale Sur in Argentina, Daegu Biennale in South Korea, the 33rd photography course in Bratislava and the works review exhibition. She was mentioned in the Apollonia art exchange in Strasbourg.
Her works have been published in many magazines such as Figaro, Guardian, Madame Figaro, European Photography, Geo, Chaeg. Recently, at the invitation of two French professors, Matilda Bernard and Karin Shempford-Kay, she collaborated in writing the academic book contemporary photography as a collaboration, which was published by Palgrave Publishing in London.
Recently nominated for the LOBA Photo Award by Steven Lee, she unveiled his latest photo collection at the Albert Kahn Museum in Paris. This exhibition continues until the end of September 2024.
